(Not So) Subtle Pouches

Create a reversible pouch in four styles: a wine bottle gift bag, beach tote, wedding gift bag, or small pouches in two sizes. All items begin with either a circular or oval base and are completely reversible. This reversible technique makes one color more prominent on each side. It is not as complicated as it looks (check out the Free Patterns page for patterns to try out this technique)!

Materials:

The pouches and gift bags were created with nylon thread #2 or crochet cotton, size 10, and a size 6 (1.80 mm) crochet hook, with 6/0 seed beads needed for the top border. The beach tote was created with worsted weight cotton yarn and a size H (5.00 mm) crochet hook. The pattern is easily adaptable to create your own style pouch using different threads or yarns.

Finished Sizes:

Short Pouch: 8-1/4" tall x 12" around
Medium Pouch: 10-1/2" tall x 12" around
Wedding Gift Bag: 8-1/4" tall x 12" around
Wine Bottle Gift Bag: 12-3/4" tall x 12" around
Beach Tote: 18" tall x 27" around
